  Rick Gerety, CIC

  President and Principal Agent

  Rick Gerety is the President and principal agent of the agency. Gerety began working as an independent insurance agent in 1996 and started his own agency from scratch in 1998. Under his leadership, the agency has grown to serve thousands of personal and commercial lines clients in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Virginia. Gerety earned a BS degree in Marketing from Penn State University in 1987 and holds the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). Gerety is a life long resident of Harford County and is married with two adult age children and a chocolate lab. For over fourteen years he coached soccer and lacrosse at the recreation and travel/club level. He is involved in the community through the Harford County Chamber of Commerce and is a board member for the Mason-Dixon Business Association. He is also the Vice-Chairman for the Board of Directors at Freedom Federal Credit Union and is the Chairman of the Board of Appeals for the town of Bel Air. Gerety is responsible for the overall day today operations of the agency and he has instilled in the agency a culture of always providing the very best service to each and every one of our clients. Under his leadership, Gerety Insurance has earned multiple leadership awards including President’s Conference (top 3% of all agents nationally) for Nationwide Insurance five times and Conference of Champions (top 10% of all agents nationally) fourteen times. Gerety was also awarded the Mid-Atlantic regions Community Service Award in 2012. In addition to running the agency, Gerety’s focus is on providing business insurance to contractors, restaurants, IT professionals and small businesses. Years of Experience: 27

  Sully Gerety, CLCS

  Insurance Advisor, Partner

  Sully is a native of Bel Air, MD, is an insurance advisor, partner, and aspiring business owner at Gerety Insurance. Prior to joining the family business, Sully gained valuable experience as a Client Service Associate at JP Morgan’s Private Bank and has since spent over five years expanding Gerety Insurance alongside his father. As our Commercial Insurance Advisor, Sully specializes in a wide range of property and casualty insurance lines, including Commercial Auto, Commercial Property, Workers Comp, General Liability, Cyber Liability, Professional Liability, and Umbrella/Excess Umbrella coverage. My Philosophy Not many individuals are able to fulfill their childhood dreams of becoming what they wanted to be when they grew up. During the second grade, I participated in a class project where we wrote down our desired professions on a wooden bench that was auctioned off at a bullroast for our classmates’ parents to bid on. More than twenty years later, while at a grocery store, a parent of one of my classmates approached me and inquired about the type of work I pursued. She expressed her surprise that I had written down wanting to be an insurance agent in the second grade. However, I was able to confidently inform her that I had indeed become an insurance advisor, making me one of the few people who can say they have fulfilled their childhood aspirations. I was able to confidently say I became what young Sully said he would be when he grew up, an insurance advisor. It took me another year to realize that I am one of the very few people who get to say they became what they wanted to be when they grew up. I always looked up to my dad and wanted to be like him when I grew up, but for it to become a reality makes me realize how lucky I am to have the opportunity. As an insurance advisor I have two goals: 1. Make sure my clients sleep soundly at night. 2. Make sure my client’s policies are cost effective. My background in finance and economics helps me educate my clients on the cost of insurance and, more importantly its purpose. While some may view insurance as a generic product, it is in fact a unqiue product service tailored to the specific risks at hand. Whether you are a business owner responsible for a team of 15 or a diligent individual looking to protect your family’s future, I would be delighted to have a conversation with you. By fostering an open and honest relationship, I can put myself in your shoes and understand your unique challenges.   Insurance Advisor/Office Manager

  Courtney was born in Baltimore City and raised in Harford County. A true Marylander picking crabs, throwing Old Bay on practically everything and going to Ocean City for the weekend getaways. Outside of work, she enjoys going on hikes and indulging in various craft projects. She also values spending time with family and friends, antique shopping and going to music festivals and concerts. My Philosophy Is that you can never stop learning or improving yourself. This is my life and work philosophy. By continuing to learn and to improve your craft and yourself, you can better help those who turn to you for guidance. Insurance is always evolving, and I strive to adapt as the industry does in our ever-changing world to better help protect what people care about most.   Insurance Advisor

  If Chris wasn’t an awesome insurance advisor, he wishes he could be an archaeologist/paleontologist. Chris spends considerable time scouring for fossils and antique bottles, fueling his love for history, dinosaurs, and fossils. As an avid audiophile, Chris also enjoys collecting records. He relishes outdoor activities like fishing, kayaking, hiking, and spending time in nature. My Philosophy I decided to become an insurance agent in 2001. My main reason for choosing this career was simple: I wanted to help people. Spring forward 21 years and this is still my focus as an agent…helping people. It could be helping someone file a claim after a storm, helping someone protect their first car, their first home or just helping someone to find peace of mind! I love to help.   Cindy lives in Harford County with her husband, children, and Yellow Labrador named Marlin. Since 2002, she has been a devoted employee of Gerety Insurance. When not occupied with work, she prefers to spend time with loved ones. Cindy finds joy in activities such as boating, fishing, kayaking, and reading. My Philosophy I take pleasure in dedicating time to educate insurance coverage options to my clients, enabling them to make well-informed decisions regarding which protection are vital for their needs.   About Jaime Harford County native currently living in Monkton along with her husband, three sons, and two dogs. As a busy mom, you can find at many sports fields throughout Harford County.   A native Long Islander that has relocated to Bel Air. Her professional background is diverse, ranging from teaching Pre-K to holding positions in nonprofit organizations, specifically in development, marketing, and office operations.   Missy takes pleasure in outdoor activities such as camping and crabbing, as well as watching football and spending quality time with loved ones. Her family’s favorite destination is Disney World. After a career in customer service spanning over three decades, she is delighted to be back in the insurance industry. My Philosophy Take a risk because even if you fail, there is always growth.
